Penelope woke up like every other day on the trail with a few of the younger ones in tow as she attended to her morning chores. What they didn’t know was that this day would change all of their lives. When the shooting began the six of them huddled out of sight, under the edge of the river embankment. Shooting… screaming… crying all seemingly would never end but she knew she must keep them quiet and hidden. She didn’t want them to see what she had seen happening.
